چکیده

The present paper deals with the problem of combined harvesting of two competing fish species, each of which obeys the law of logistic growth and releases a substance toxic to the other. The dynamical behaviour of the exploited system is examined. The possibility of existence of a bionomic equilibrium is discussed. The optimal harvesting policy is studied from the view point of control theory. Finally, some numerical examples are taken to illustrate the results. # 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

Effect of TiO2 nanoparticles on the acute toxicity of Ag nanoparticles in zebra fish (Danio rerio)

The potential entry of nanomaterials into the water ecosystems increased following their increasing use. In addition to the direct effects of nanomaterials on aquatic organisms, they also affect the toxicity of other pollutants on aquatic organisms. This study assessed the presence of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nTiO2) in water on acute toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on zebra fish...

Evaluation of different stocking densities of two small indigenous fish, pabda (Ompok pabda) and gulsha (Mystus cavasius ) with Indian major carps in polyculture system

An experiment on the polyculture of carps with high valued small indigenous fish species (SIS) pabda (Ompok pabda) and gulsha (Mystus cavasius) was carried out in six months culture period to evaluate the production performance of carp with small indigenous fish pabda (Ompok pabda) and gulsha (Mystus cavasius) in the on-farm condition. Three stocking densities of pabda and gulsha were tested, k...

Investigation of acute toxicity of lead-manganese mixture to fish under laboratory conditions

The aim of this study was to investigate acute toxicity (96-hr LC50 and lethal concentrations) of waterborne metal mixture (Pb+Mn) for the fish, Catla catla, Labeo rohita, Cirrhina mrigala, Ctenopharyngodon idella and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix. The extent of metals bio- accumulation in fish body organs viz. gills, liver, kidney, fins, bones, muscle and skin at both 96-hr LC50 and lethal conce...

Effects of Atrazine (Herbicide) on Blood Biochemical Indices of Grass Carp (Ctenopharhyngoden idella)

Atrazine is currently the most widely used herbicide in agriculture for the production of corn and other crops in the world. In the present research, the effect of acute and chronic toxicity of atrazine (herbicide) on blood biochemical indices of grass carp (Ctenopharhyngoden idella) an important species of commercial fish was studied. In acute toxicity, pollutant toxicity to fish was tested by...

Effects of Sub-Lethal Toxicity of Paraquat on Blood Biochemical Parameters of Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758)

Background: Paraquat is a non-selective contact herbicide, widely used to control weeds in agriculture farms and aquatic plants in surface waters. Paraquat can have adverse effects on the health of aquatic organisms. The aim of this study was to detect the alterations in the blood biochemical parameters of common carp exposed to sub-lethal concentrations of commercial formulations of paraquat. ...
